Replacing drug-using activities with constructive and rewarding non-drug-using activities is an essential component of our philosophy. Adhering to a balanced approach for daily living we strive to bring alignment to the lives of those we serve.
We further realize and understand that no two people or situations are alike. Every potential client brings a unique set of circumstances, level of addiction and exposure to recovery.
Sober coaches and companions are trained professionals with a minimum of three years of abstinence and/or certifications in their respected field. Client’s, family members, agents and doctors are encouraged to call for our assistance prior to or after someone has been to detox or rehab. People struggling with a history of relapse or someone who wants to further ensure their recovery will benefit tremendously.
Anyone returning home from treatment unaided will be met with stressors and triggers. Having a sober professional nearby improves the outcome that relapse will not occur. Common pitfalls many encounter when engaging or re-engaging back into their lives are reduced and recovery is amplified as the sober coach/companion picks up where rehabs leave off.
There are three primary types of sober coaches:
Sober Escort: “Is someone who gets a client from point A to point B and usually isn’t needed for more than a 72 hour period.”
Recovery Coach: “Is someone who spends a certain amount of time with a client to reinforce recovery or may be brought in to attend life events such as; an awards dinner, family or business engagement, vacation, etc.”
Sober Companion: Is someone who is with a client 24 hours a day 7 days a week lasting anywhere from one month to one year. They also do something called shifting or step down phases where the sober companion will do five days on – two days off – and other companions are rotated in.
How much do these services cost?
Recovery Coaches and Sober Escorts: Are usually paid an hourly rate and can range from $100 per hour to $150 per hour.
Sober Companions: Are typically $800 to $1200 a day. The longer the term – the lower the cost.
How does the whole process work?
How does a client get matched up with a coach? “The first step is for the client and/or authorized agent to contact us so we can discuss the situation and mutually decide what services would best fit the client’s needs. Every person receives an assessment and individualized plan that is designed to enhance their recovery and embrace their lifestyle. Pairing of clients with escorts, coaches and companions is based on gender, compatibility and medical necessity.
When the coach first arrives at their client’s home what happens?
Companions are prepared to do a clean sweep of the house and safety proof the environment for the client. Every effort is made to ensure the client’s well being is protected, so removing substances, contraband or items that may endanger the client’s recovery are responsibly cleared away. A schedule may be discussed and introduced so there’s objectives, goals and a structure for daily living. The groundwork and relationship building occurs seamlessly as our companions and coaches are well suited for living in close proximity with their clients.
